“Live in the Sunshine, Swim in the Sea, Drink the Wild Air” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Welcome to Langebaan!

Langebaan is the kite-surfing mecca of the West Coast and during the windy summer season from December to February, wind- and kite-surfers from all over the world flock to the seaside town.

On a good day when the wind is in favour, a kaleidoscope of colourful kites are seen in the air above the lagoon at Main Beach, North Beach and Shark Bay.

A great way to escape the Northern Hemisphere’s winter is to spent a summer holiday on the West Coast of South Africa.

Langebaan is an all-year-round holiday destination; during autumn from March to May the weather is beautifully mild, with almost no wind and still lots of summery beach days.

The Western Cape falls in the winter rainfall area during June to August, but with almost no wind, long walks on the beach warm one up or watching the sunset from one of the many beach front restaurants is a must.

In Spring it’s Wild Flower season and the West Coast comes to life with wild flowers blooming in purple, yellow, orange, pink and white colours. Visitors from all over stream to the West Coast National Park and surrounding areas to view the flowers and picnic in the park. The Postberg Private Nature Reserve located inside the West Coast National Park is only open during August and September for wild flower viewing and have designated picnic spots.

The lagoon beaches in the West Coast National Park, Preekstoel and Kraalbaai, are popular for it’s shallow warmer water and the ideal locations to spend the day swimming and enjoying a picnic on the beach. Tjaarbank on the ocean side has picnic and barbecue facilities.

Always Summer Guesthouse is located in the Mid-town of Langebaan with it’s main entrance on Hoof street, a mere 2 minute walk to the Lagoon beach. The house was renovated towards the end of 2018 and has a refreshing spacious and modern  feel to it.

The house is ideally located to benefit those who prefer to be close to the beach, restaurants and water sport activities and with secure parking inside the property.
